What to Expect
Your Painting Sanctuary will be your safe and sacred space from first to last day, always available. Here you will also have group sharing each morning and evening. Your ongoing painting imagery is a mirror of your progressive cleansing journey, a place to express the many emotions and non-verbal memories and imagery released by the Cleanse.

The Phases of your Cleanse, also mirrored in the painting process are: Expectation, which includes pre workshop preparation, lighter meals, individual body assessment, and orientation; Incubation, which includes the first few days of nourishment on herbal drinks, broths and cleansing supplements, body image session, ceremonial Sweat, culminating in the liver cleanse and colonics on the 4th day; Re-emergence, which includes beginning to eat solid food again, acceleration of exercise, “future visualization” session, and transformation of our painting process; and Celebration, the ritual culmination of our cleanse and painting process.

Woven throughout each day of this body and soul healing symphony are yoga, walking, bodywork sessions, and periods of silence. A typical day will start with a walk, and continues with nourishment, group sharing, painting sanctuary, mid-day nourishment, a talk or activity, painting sanctuary, long yoga/exercise session, evening nourishment, and end with group sharing/painting.

Achieving Optimum Health through Detoxification & Cleansing

**Comments on this site have been closed due to spam.**

“Detoxification” and “cleansing” describe a medical treatment plan intended to assist and improve you body’s natural ability to rid itself of toxic chemicals and allergens, whether a product of natural metabolism and intestinal germs, external toxins in food and water you consume, the air you breathe, or skin and hair care products you use. Your body naturally detoxifies itself; however, in this chemically-polluted world, never before has your body has to deal with so many toxins, and if you are immune-suppressed., stressed of suffer from chronic illness or conditions; your body needs help to rid itself of deadly toxins. A planned and supervised Detoxification and Cleansing Program will help your body rid itself of toxic chemicals and allergens and achieve lasting optimum health.

A Detox/Cleanse Program is an effective method of helping your body move through the natural cycle of releasing toxic chemicals and allergens. As they enter your bloodstream, you experience a “low” or “down” cycle during which you may suffer headaches, digestive problems or depression. Acute or chronic conditions, colon disorders, allergies and degenerative diseases such as arthritis and diabetes are extremely responsive to Detox/Cleanse because it facilitates and supports the healing process.

I recommend Detox/Cleanse Program twice a year – Spring and Fall – for 3-10 days. The length of a Program accomplishes different objectives: a 3-day program rids toxins and cleanses the blood, a 5-day program begins the process of healing and rebuilding the immune system, and a 7-10-day program can be preventive and help fight illnesses and degenerative diseases.

It took years to wear your body down and it takes time to build it back up – Believe it can be done! Whenever you’re not feeling well, consider doing a Detox/Cleanse Program with qualified health care practitioners.

Better "Good Bacteria" During Antibiotic treatment

Lots of us know that antibiotics may interfere with the "good" bacteria in our systems even as they help us get rid of infection and illness. Recent studies have shown that a particular probiotic, S. boulardii, can support our systems during a course of antibiotics. People with Giardia were more likely to be completely symptom-free at the end of treatment if they took S. boulardii at the same time.

S. boulardii is, in fact, a yeast, a single-celled organism like a bacteria. S. boulardii doesn't live well in the human system, so think of it as a place-holder. While you take antibiotics, take the S. boulardii. Even if the antibiotics kill some of your "good" bacteria, the spaces where they live will be held available. When you finish the course of antibiotics (and please do take the full course, as directed) also discontinue the S. boulardii. This is a great time to take "good" bacteria or Probiotics. Your own "good" bacteria plus the supplemental Probiotics will colonize the spaces held by the S. boulardii.

If we don't fill those spaces back in, we may be prone to infection with other bacteria or candida, which can be complicated to treat once they have established themselves.

If you live in Ojai and are interested in either S. boulardii or a high-quality probiotic (I recommend Dr. Ohhira's - it is hands-down the best I've ever used), you may contact me - I carry both! If not, try a colon therapist or chiropractor or naturopath in your area.
