AMMA in LA June 14 and 15
AMMA, known to many as the hugging saint and spiritual ambassador from India, will be in town on June 14th and 15th. One heartfelt embrace at a time, AMMA (http://amma.org) promotes compassion in its most basic form. Born Sudhamani in a Southern district of Kerala, the spiritual leader has been globally recognized for humanitarian contributions by the United Nations and awarded such prestigious awards as the Gandhi-King Award for Non-Violence.

Through the simple teachings of selflessness and guidance in leading by example, AMMA teaching centers now reside in six continents across 33 countries. Additionally, AMMA’s response to natural disaster has brought about food, clothing, medicine and more to Hurricane Katrina victims, where AMMA was one of the first to respond to aide relief efforts, and those left homeless by both the 2001 Gujarat Earthquake and 2008 Bihar Flood.

Whether seeking solace, direction, or human interaction, over the past 35 years AMMA has embraced more than 25 million people worldwide. Her philanthropy extends to an international collection of non-profit charities- Embracing the World (http://embracingtheworld.org).
